Ms. Supriya Sule visits BAIF MITTRA's Programme

Ms. Supriya Sule, Member of Parliament, visited the head office of Maharashtra Institute of Technology Transfer for Rural Areas (MITTRA) in Nashik on November 17, 2009.

Shri.  Vinayakrao Patil and Shri. Vijayrao Borade, Trustee, MITTRA were present on this occasssion.

During the meeting she was briefed about the multidisciplinary programmes taken up by MITTRA in 22 districts, benefiting nearly 80,000 families from more than 1900 villages. She appreciated the work and stated that this inspiring work was indeed creating a revolution in the lives of the rural families in Maharashtra.

Ms. Sule also visited the agri-horti forestry programme through wadi at Umbarvangan village in Vikramgad area on December 31, 2009 where she took a tour of four- year old wadi plots and held discussions with the jasmine flower seller’s organization as well as Vanvasi village where she was shown 10-year old wadi plots and interacted with the wadi farmers. She also took keen interest in the research trials laid out at the training and demonstration campus at Jawhar and ended her tour with an interaction with the women’s federation and cooperatives. She was accompanied by Shri Vinayakrao Patil, Trustee, MITTRA, Shri. Girish G. Sohani, President, BAIF, Shri. Vijay V. Deshpande and other officers of MITTRA.
